How it all started

When a licensed contractor with over 18 years of experience meets an interior designer with over 23 years of experience gets together, you know things will be fantastic. Ryan Gardner and Jon McGill have worked together for years, just not for the same company. Design N Mind Interiors of Salt Lake City was born after years of frustration with other companies and restrictions.

Our in-house custom design architect, Jon McGill, is a highly sought-after professional who lends his creative expertise and attention to detail to every project. “Working with my clients, I listen to the vision you have for your project and then translate those ideas into a design that will delight you!”

Ryan Gardner, the owner of Salt Lake City based Blue Lake Construction, has been in the construction industry for over 18 years, specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodels, home additions, and other home builds.

Design N Mind Interiors, a division of Blue Lake Construction, was founded in the summer of 2022 with one goal: to help homeowners of the Salt Lake Valley beautify their homes, one remodel at a time. We pride ourselves on a transparent remodeling experience, including the homeowner in all project aspects and ensuring you get the kitchen or bathroom remodel of your dreams.

Design N Mind Interiors from the beginning was knowledgeable, helpful and my advocate. It was so easy to make the many decisions needed for my remodel with Jon's direction. When things weren't getting done, he lit a fire under the contractor and they stepped up. He spent time figuring out what I was wanting then provided options to choose from. From paint colors to tile, backsplash flooring, etc. it made it easy to make those decisions. I highly recommend Jon to anyone thinking of remodeling and don't know where to start! Jon McGill helped me through a remodel of my entire living area. He's a delight to work with in every way. As we worked out a plan of designs, colors, and materials, he brought his professional ideas and up-to-date knowledge of design to bring more than I had imagined to the plan. We had gone to the Home Show in 2021 and got very lucky to meet Jon McGill, and his Contractor Ryan. Jon helped us find exactly the perfect Cabinets we were looking for and was with us to help picking the Backsplash, hardware, everything.
